i am a producer

The Church Studios’ #iamaproducer project was a low-key social media campaign to celebrate female and non-binary producers, engineers and mixers, and shine a light on the negative impact of gender labels in the music industry, particularly in the studio.

In collaboration with female-led radio station Foundation.FM The Church created a limited print run of t-shirts emblazoned with ‘i am a female producer’ in Cindy Sherman red and sent to their talented friends in these fields. Shared on social media, the posts from The Church highlighted the creators’ career achievements, in an effort to increase opportunities for under-represented female-identifying and non-binary audio engineers, producers and mixers.
